When you look at Philippians you find this rather astonishing set of verses

So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any incentive of love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.

Let’s think about that for a moment. What is listed here:

    Encouragement in Christ
    Incentive to love
    Participation in the Spirit
    Affection
    Sympathy

What should we take from that? Is it something we see around us in our Churches?

Do nothing from selfishness or conceit, but in humility count others better than yourselves.

Wow, that rather lays on the line. Do nothing from selfishness?

What, we can’t flog our blog? No conceit? You mean I can’t show how clever I am at arguing with people? Humility? Are you crazy? These lunatic progressives/conservatives are ruining the Church and there is no way they can be better than me!

“Do nothing from selfishness or conceit, but in humility count others better than yourselves.”

Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

How do you read that? Yes, I am personally asking you who read this to think about your answer.

Have this mind among yourselves, which was in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:1-11

For the Love of Christ, the Immaculate Heart of Mary, stop this blog flogging. It has become so bad I see it as an evil. People think they are protecting and defending the Church. Do we not have a promise from Jesus himself, “the gates of hell shall not prevail against it?” If that is so, God does not need our help taking care of these matters.

God is in charge. Jesus Christ is the center, or should be, of our very life.

I am begging for peace in the blogosphere. It is close to becoming evil. God help us all.
